1. Facebook –

Meta Platforms is the parent organization of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Current business name is Meta and formerly known as Facebook founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and headquarters in United States. Facebook is the best among all social media apps.

2. YouTube –

YouTube is an American online video sharing and social media platform owned by Google launched on February 14, 2005 by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim. It is the second most visited website, right after Google itself.

3. WhatsApp –

WhatsApp, is an internationally available American freeware, cross-platform centralized instant messaging and voice-over-IP service owned by Meta Platforms available in 40 (IOS) and 60 (Android) languages. It was initially released in January 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum. Also available as Whatsapp Web.

4. Instagram –

Instagram is an American photo and video sharing social networking service available in 32 languages. It was founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in 6 October 2010. In April 2012 , acquired by Facebook Inc.

5. WeChat –

WeChat is a Chinese app for instant messaging, social media and mobile payment available in 17 languages. It was developed by Tencent and first time released in 2011.

6. Sina Weibo –

Sina Weibo is a Chinese micro-blogging website launched by Sina Corporation on 14 August 2009, it is one of the biggest social media platforms in China.

7. Twitter –

Twitter is an American social networking service where users post and interact with messages known as “tweets”. Registered users can post, like, and retweet tweets and unregistered users can read public tweets only. It was founded by Jack Dorsey , Biz Stone , Evan Williams and Noah Glass in March 2006.

8. LinkedIn –

LinkedIn is an American business and job-oriented online service that operates via websites and mobile apps. It was launched in May 5, 2003 and allows job seekers to post their CVs and employers to post jobs.

9. Snapchat –

Snapchat is an American multimedia messaging app and service developed by Snap Inc initially released in July 2011. It is available in 37 languages. Its main feature is that pictures and messages are usually only available for a short time before they become inaccessible to the recipients.

10. Tumblr –

Tumblr is an American micro-blogging and social networking website founded by David Karp in 2007. It is currently owned by Automattic. It allows users to post multimedia content and follow other user’s blogs.

11. Pinterest –

Pinterest is an image sharing social media service launched in January 2010. It consists of “pins” and “boards”. A pin is an image that has been linked from a website or uploaded. Pins saved from one user’s board can be saved to someone else’s board, a process known as “repinning”.

12. Reddit –

Reddit is an American social news aggregation and discussion website launched in June 2005. Registered members submit content like images , links , text and videos which are voted up and down by other registered users.
